RED AND OAK FOUNTAIN PEN
A lovely Fountain Pen has been made from an off cut of Oak and Red Dyed Resin with Chrome Plated Fittings to give this pen a unique effect and the Chrome compliments it nicely. It is well balanced and enjoyable to use.
The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it. This is ideal for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. It also comes in a black velveteen pouch to protect it (or black velvet pen box for an extra charge).
Each pen is unique and made using wood, resin and top-quality components. Once it has been turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection, it has several coats of finish and then a polish.

About the Pen Body
- I start by deciding what colours I am going to make the blank and then mixing the resin and adding the pigments to make the colours that I want. It takes two to three hours before the resin is ready to pour.
- I next place the offcuts of timber into a mould and then pour the resin to cover them. The mould then has a tape placed over the top of the mould to stop the wood floating to the top. This is then left for between five and seven days to cure.
- The piece is then removed from the mould and cut into pen blanks.
- A pen blank is then selected, cut to size and then drilled to take the brass tubes that the pen mechanism will be fitted in.
- Once the tubes are fitted the blank is then turned and shaped on the lathe to the correct size.
- It is now sanded with very fine sandpaper and a finish is then applied.
- The pen is then assembled and cleaned so that the finished item ready to be dispatched.

Delivery
All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
