My mid-range fountain pens are of a higher grade of fittings than standard fountain pens. The pen writes beautifully, is well balanced and of a classic design. This one is made from a lovely piece of Mediterranean Olive wood with Gold Plated fittings and accented Centre Ring and Cabochon in Black Chrome. This combination compliments this timber beautifully.
Like a lot of best quality pens, the finished pen is not “pillared” so the cap cannot be fixed to the back of the pen. The nib has an iridium point and comes with an ink converter, cartridges and is in a black velveteen pouch (or a Hard Velvet Pen Case as an added extra). Please note that wood is a natural material and can have faults which can sometimes be felt even after numerous coats of finish.

Olive Wood is a beautiful type of wood and is used in many luxury goods. Olives are a huge economic importance in the Mediterranean and the trees are never usually harvested for their wood. So, most olive wood is limited to tree clippings, branches, and trees destroyed by storms or disease.
The trees themselves grow from 25 to 50 feet tall. The diameter of these trees can reach anywhere from 3-5 feet and the colour is a creamy yellow/brown with dark brown or black contrasting grain. It is this that really makes olive wood stand out so much as the grain can be curly or wavy in shape and also may be straight, interlocked, or wild.
Olive trees have been around for a very long time. The earliest record of olive tree groves were recorded to be around 4000 B.C. Many people draw olive trees in backgrounds of religious paintings because they are prevalent in the holy land of Jerusalem.
The Olive tree is actually quite significant in most religions, however for everybody olive trees are a symbol of peace and beauty. The wood itself is fairly easy to work with, the only problems that may occur is that the wood is subject to cracking when working with a lot of grain

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.

This pen is unique and made using sustainable or recycled timber or resin and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has a number of coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a pouch, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.
