I start by deciding what colours I am going to make the blank and then mixing the resin and adding the pigments to make the colours that I want. It takes two to three hours before the resin is ready to pour.
I now mix these colours together to make a unique blank and then leave it to set for a week
The next move is to select the blank that I want use
After the blank is selected, it is cut to size and then drilled to take the brass tubes that the pen mechanism will be fitted in.
Once the tubes are fitted the blank is then turned on the lathe to the correct size.
The square blank is now turned and shaped.
It is now sanded with very fine sandpaper, the finish is then applied with up to ten coats, being sanded between every one or two coats with 1500 grit to 12000 grit sandpaper
The pen is then assembled and cleaned so that the finished item ready to be dispatched.
