My mid-range fountain pens are of a higher grade of fittings than standard fountain pens. The pen writes beautifully, is well balanced and of a classic design. This Poplar Burr Fountain Pen is made from a lovely piece of repurposed timber with Gun Metal Plated fittings and an accented Centre Ring and Cabochon in Black Chrome that compliments this timber nicely. Like a lot of best quality pens, the finished pen is not “pillared” so the cap cannot be fixed to the back of the pen. The nib has an iridium point and comes with an ink converter, cartridges and is in a black velveteen pouch (or a Hard Velvet Pen Case as an added extra).

Any wood species, that is not listed as being recycled or repurposed comes from sustainable stock and is not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Burr timber (also known as Burl) is a form of a deformed, knotted growth on a tree trunk or branch that produces highly decorative wood with swirling grain patterns. Burr poplar, also known as Mappa burl, is a rare, highly decorative hardwood featuring unique patterns of small, scattered spots and swirling knots giving a beautiful wood. It is difficult to use and needs to be stabilised before any work can be attempted but well worth the time and effort.
Delivery Details
All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
