HANDMADE LABURNUM FOUNTAIN PEN
This lovely Laburnum fountain pen is constructed from a recycled timber with Gold Plated Fittings. The pen is “pillared” so that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. It comes complete in a velvet pouch for protection (or black velvet pen case as an added extra).

About This Timber Pen
All of my wooden pens are made from recycled, repurposed or sustainable timber. Further information regarding the type of wood this pen is made from will be contained in the information sheet. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Any wood species, that is not listed as being recycled or repurposed comes from sustainable stock and is not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Laburnum is a hard, dense wood that works well with hand and machine tools. It turns well and can be cut into fine veneers. It is a hardwood and the heartwood colour ranges from almost white to a darker violet brown, darkening with age. Clearly defined sapwood is a pale yellow. Laburnum’s dark colour make it suitable for use as an ebony substitute, particularly within its natural range in Europe. Wide rays can exhibit ray fleck on quartersawn surfaces. End grain slices of Laburnum are sometimes used in making a decorative “oyster veneer” pattern for use in furniture. Grain is usually straight, with a fine, even texture. Good natural lustre.
