This pen is made from a light oak that has been sanded, stained with a medium oak stain and then sanded again back so that the grain is highlighted. The fittings are in back enamel.
It comes fitted with a Parker G2 style gel refill and replacements can easily be obtained either online or in local stationary shops.

Oak Ballpoint Pen- About The Timber
Oak is probably one of the most well known deciduous timbers. There are said to be over 500 different knowns varieties of this tree. It is known for its strength and was extensively used in ship building from at least the Viking era. It was also used in the making of good quality furniture, barrels and numerous other items.
A lot of people do not like using oak as the grain can be very course, difficult to work. However, I feel that most people buy a wooden pen for it to feel like a wooden pen and not a piece of plastic.
Most of the oak that I use is English, but it is not always easy to tell particularly that sourced from old furniture.

General Details
Every pen is unique each being made using sustainable, reclaimed, recycled timber or resin and fitted with top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has numerous coats of finish and then a polish.
To protect you pen it comes in a velvet sleeve, unless otherwise stated, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I personally turned the pen and the date it was constructed.
This pen body is made from timber which, being a natural material, makes each piece unique in colour and figuring, and will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!
All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked).
For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges and these will send by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any import and custom taxes.
