Hemlock Ballpoint Pen – As you can see this is a lovely pen made from recycled Hemlock. It has a twist action and “Antique Gold” fittings. Unlike a lot of twist pens, this one has better quality components that unscrew to the change the refill, rather then pull apart and comes fitted with a Parker style refill.

Hemlock Ballpoint Pen- About The Timber
Hemlock is a slow growing softwood that is an important material in the construction industry and is also a versatile choice for woodworkers as it planes and turns well. Light in colour with often a pronounced darker grain. The heartwood is light reddish brown. Sapwood may be slightly lighter in colour but usually isn’t distinguished from the heartwood. Occasionally contains dark streaks caused by bark maggots. The conspicuous growth rings can exhibit interesting grain patterns.
It is often used for interior woodwork such as architraves and skirting also it is becoming more popular with cabinet makers for furniture.

General Details
Every pen is unique each being made using sustainable, reclaimed, recycled timber or resin and fitted with top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has numerous coats of finish and then a polish. To protect you pen it comes in a velvet sleeve, unless otherwise stated, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I personally turned the pen and the date it was constructed.
This pen body is made from timber which, being a natural material, makes each piece unique in colour and figuring, and will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!
All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges and these will send by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any import and custom taxes.
