About The Timber
Eucalyptus Grandis is native to eastern Australia, and a number of large plantations have been established in South America and South
Africa. 'Red Grandis' refers to timber sourced from plantations in South America.
The colour can vary to almost white to light pink or dark red. The grain may be interlocked but plantation stock generally is straighter
grained, and the texture is fine.
Works moderately well with some difficulty when using a plane due to occasional interlocked grain

This pen is constructed from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour
and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the
finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!
Each pen is made using sustainable or recycled timber and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible
protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a velvet sleeve, full instructions on the care of the pen and
a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and in most cases the date it was constructed.

“pillared”
so
that
the
cap
can
be
screwed
on
the
back
of
the
pen
to
extend
it
longer
for
anyone
who
likes
to
use
a
longer pen. The nib has an iridium point. This pen has been made and is ready to post.

reclaimed
timber
for
my
pens,

this

leaves
off
cuts
of
timber
or
pieces
that
are
not
suitable
due
to
faults
or
worm
and
are
more
or
less
of
no
use,
being
too
small
to
make
anything
from.
It
is
these
odd
pieces
that

pen is constructed from.
