Zebrano Rollerball Pen
A superb Rollerball pen, constructed from Zebrano with Chrome plated fittings. The pen is “pillared” so that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. It comes complete with a Schmidt refill already fitted and in a black velveteen pouch. The pen for sale is the one in the picture and ready to post.

Zebrano Rollerball Pen- About The Timber
This wood is also known as Zebrawood due to the colouration of brown or cream with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes. Depending on whether the wood is flatsawn or quartersawn, the stripes can be either chaotic and wavy (flatsawn), or somewhat uniform (quartersawn).
The wood has a fairly coarse texture and open pores with the Grain usually wavy or interlocked. The wood saws well but can be very difficult to plane or surface due to the prevalence of interlocking grain. Tearout is common. Zebrawood glues and finishes well, though a transparent pore filler may be necessary for the large open pores which occur on both dark and light surfaces. It is becoming a rare timber due to the decline in its natural range.
Each pen is unique and made using sustainable, reclaimed or recycled timber and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a velvet sleeve, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and in most cases the date it was constructed.
This pen is constructed from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!
