Sapele Fountain Pen
This is a beautiful Fountain Pen made from Recycled Sapele with Rose Gold coloured plated fittings. The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. The nib has an iridium point and the pen comes in a black velveteen pouch (or the chance to have a black velvet pen box with white and blue interior as an added extra) and three ink cartridges to get you started. About the Timber
Sapele is a West African timber that is red in colour that closely resembles Mahogany and used for windows, flooring and conservatories due to its durability. As Mahogany, particularly Brazilian, became scarce Sapele was used as a cheaper substitute for Mahogany and can be used for general joinery. It is very good for those who want a painted finish.
This pen is made from a piece of recycled window that was fitting in the early 1970’s in a house in Somerset which was later fitted with more ecologically friendly windows.

More Details
Each pen is made using sustainable or recycled timber and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish.
It comes complete in a velvet sleeve, full instructions on the care of the pen. Also a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and in most cases the date it was constructed.
This pen is constructed from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
