Beautiful Spalted Beech Fountain Pen
This is a Stunning Fountain Pen is made from Recycled Beech with Gold Plated fittings. It is made from Beech that has started to decay. This is then stabilised to stop further decay and in order to make the wood firm enough to turn on a lathe. This has resulted in a stunning pen that one can still see, and feel, of the dinks and faults in the wood.
The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen. This is useful for anyone who likes to use a longer pen.
The nib has an iridium point and the pen comes in a black velveteen pouch (or the chance to have a black velvet pen box with white and blue interior as an added extra) and three ink cartridges to get you started. About Your Timber
The majority of people have never heard of spalted timber, but many woods can spalt with Beech, Oak and Elm probably being the most common. Spalting is a term used to describe the process by which certain decay or fungi grow usually on dead or fallen trees and after colonizing the wood via travelling up the wood cells from the ends or from broken off branches, leaving an attractive pattern. It is sought after by woodworkers for the infinite number of patterns and colour variations that it can produce from subtle colour changes.

More Details
This pen is unique and made using sustainable or recycled timber or resin and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has a number of coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a pouch, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
