Beautiful Laburnum Fountain Pen
This is a Beautiful Laburnum Fountain Pen with Gold Plated fittings. The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. The nib has an iridium point and the pen comes in a black velveteen pouch (or the chance to have a black velvet pen box with white and blue interior as an added extra) and three ink cartridges to get you started. About Your Timber
Laburnum is a hard, dense wood that works well with hand and machine tools. It turns well and can be cut into fine veneers. It is a hardwood and the heartwood colour ranges from almost white to a darker violet brown, darkening with age. Clearly defined sapwood is a pale yellow. Laburnum’s dark colour make it suitable for use as an ebony substitute, particularly within its natural range in Europe. Wide rays can exhibit ray fleck on quartersawn surfaces. End grain slices of Laburnum are sometimes used in making a decorative “oyster veneer” pattern for use in furniture. Grain is usually straight, with a fine, even texture. Good natural lustre.

More Details
This pen is unique and made using sustainable or recycled timber or resin and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has a number of coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a pouch, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
