Oak Rollerball Pen
One of the most stately English woods for a Rollerball Pen is Oak. This particular pen has Gun Metal coloured plated fittings and the finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. The nib has an iridium point and the pen comes in a black velveteen pouch (or the chance to have a black velvet pen box with white and blue interior as an added extra) and three ink cartridges to get you started.

About the Timber
Oak is probably one of the most well-known deciduous timbers. There are said to be over 500 different knowns varieties of this tree and is known for its strength and was extensively used in ship building from at least the Viking era. It was also used in the making of good quality furniture, barrels and numerous other items.
A lot of people do not like using oak as the grain can be very course, difficult to work and get a glass like finish. Most of the oak that I use is English, but it is not always easy to tell particularly that sourced from old furniture.

More Details
This pen is unique and made using sustainable or recycled timber or resin and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has a number of coats of finish and then a polish. It comes complete in a pouch, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
