Elm Fountain Pen
Elm is a lovely wood for a Fountain Pen with this one with Chrome plated fittings. The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen. This is ideal for anyone who likes to use a longer pen.
The nib has an iridium point and the pen comes in a black velveteen pouch (or the chance to have a black velvet pen box with white and blue interior as an added extra). Also included are three ink cartridges to get you started and an ink converter.

About the Timber
Elm is a hardwood that is thought to have been introduced to England during the Bronze Age. Is a hardwearing timber that has been used for furniture for centuries although it can be somewhat difficult to work sometimes. It has a greyish, brown colour and can have a really nice grain. Sadly, Dutch Elm Disease, has wiped out millions of trees and this has made it a rare tree to be seen now.

More Details
Each pen is made using sustainable or recycled wood and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish.
It comes complete in a velvet sleeve, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and in most cases the date it was constructed.
This pen is constructed from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour and darken in time.
The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
