Oak Fountain Pen
This Fountain Pen is constructed from a lovely piece of recycled English Oak and Rose Gold Coloured Plated Fittings. It is nicely balanced and pleasant to use.
The finished pen is “pillared” meaning that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen. This is ideal for anyone who likes to use a longer pen.
It comes in a black velveteen pouch to protect it (or black velvet pen box with white and blue interior for an extra charge).

About the Timber
Oak is probably one of the most well-known deciduous timbers. There are said to be over 500 different knowns varieties of this tree. The wood is known for its strength and was extensively used in ship building from at least the Viking era. It was also used in the making of good quality furniture, barrels and numerous other items.
A lot of people do not like using oak as the grain can be very course, difficult to work and get a glass like finish. Most of the oak that I use is English, but it is not always easy to tell particularly that sourced from old furniture.

More Details
Each pen is made using sustainable or recycled wood and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish.
It comes complete in a velvet sleeve and full instructions on the care of the pen. Also a
certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.
This pen is made from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour and darken in time.
The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
