Beech Fountain Pen
This Fountain Pen is constructed from a recycled piece of English Beech with Gun Metal Plated Fittings. The pen is “pillared” so that the cap can be screwed on the back of the pen to extend it for anyone who likes to use a longer pen. The nib has an iridium point. It comes complete with ink cartridges, a converter so that bottled ink can be used and in a velvet pouch for protection (or black velvet pen box with white and blue interior for an extra charge).

About the Timber
Beech is typically a pale cream colour, sometimes with a pink or brown hue surfaces which tend to be very plain, while quartersawn surfaces exhibit a silvery fleck pattern. The grain is straight, with a fine to medium uniform texture. Moderate natural lustre. Overall it has good workability and machines well and also turns well. Beech also responds superbly to steam-bending.
Due to its considerable versatility Beech has a number of uses ranging from furniture making to butcher’s blocks to tools handles.

More Details
Each pen is made using sustainable or recycled wood and top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has up to ten coats of finish and then a polish.
It comes complete in a velvet sleeve and full instructions on the care of the pen. Also a
certificate of authenticity, confirming that I have turned the pen personally and the date it was constructed.
This pen is made from timber. Being a natural material each piece is unique in colour and figuring, which will slightly change colour and darken in time.
The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
