Maple Ballpoint Pen – This one piece click pen has been made with a nice piece of Maple, that has been turned to a chunky unique pen which is finished off with Gun Metal plated fittings. It has a nice smooth click action and comes fitted with a standard Parker G2 style ballpoint refill and replacements can easily be obtained either online or in local stationary shops due the popularity of the Parker pen.

Maple Ballpoint Pen- About The Timber
There are many species of Maple and unlike most other hardwoods, the sapwood of maple is most commonly used rather than its heartwood. The Sapwood colour ranges from nearly white to an off-white cream colour sometimes with a reddish or golden hue. The grain is generally straight but may be wavy it has a fine, even texture. It is fairly easy to work with both hand and machine tools. It turns and finishes well.
Being durable it is sometimes used for flooring, musical instruments (used by both Fender and Gibson in their guitar construction), cutting boards, butcher blocks (as well as Beech in the UK), workbenches and other turned objects and specialty wood items.

General Details
Every pen is unique each being made using sustainable, reclaimed, recycled timber or resin and fitted with top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has numerous coats of finish and then a polish. To protect you pen it comes in a velvet sleeve, unless otherwise stated, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I personally turned the pen and the date it was constructed.
This pen body is made from timber which, being a natural material, makes each piece unique in colour and figuring, and will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!
All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges and these will send by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any import and custom taxes.
