Panga Panga Ballpoint Pen – This wooden Ballpoint Twist Pen is constructed from a nice piece of Panga Panga with Chrome/24 Carat Gold Plated fittings. The ring between the wood and gold has tiny Yin Yang symbols and is an ideal gift for someone with a love of nature with the yin yang symbol representing the interconnectedness of the world, particularly the natural world. It comes fitted with a Parker G2 style refill. The mechanism is bidirectional so the pen nib can be extended by turning the top finial clockwise or counter-clockwise. This pen has been made and is ready to post.

Elm Ballpoint Pen- About The Timber
Panga Panga is from East and South-East Africa (Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe). This species is sometimes confused with its cousin Wenge which is very similar in appearance but grows in West and Central Africa.
This species is a deep, dark chocolate brown with alternating depths of colour and whitish/yellowish tissue which has the effect of stripes and swirls. This tissue sometimes appears light spots on the timber. This species looks superb when laid as a parquet wood block floor, with the bold wavy-stripe appearance giving an added dimension and interest. It also works well as a striking border to a paler colour parquet block, such as sycamore or maple.
A hard wood, stable and heavy, so as a consequence it has exceptionally good ‘resistance to wear’ properties. It glues satisfactorily and will take a polish well, with a very faint scent when sanded. A dense timber, which feels cool and hard to the touch with a smooth feel to it. This is an unusual species of great interest and quality.

General Details
Every pen is unique each being made using sustainable, reclaimed, recycled timber or resin and fitted with top quality components. Once turned and sanded, to give the best possible protection it has numerous coats of finish and then a polish. To protect you pen it comes in a velvet sleeve, unless otherwise stated, full instructions on the care of the pen and a certificate of authenticity, confirming that I personally turned the pen and the date it was constructed.
This pen body is made from timber which, being a natural material, makes each piece unique in colour and figuring, and will slightly change colour and darken in time. The pen may be smooth to the touch or you may be able to feel the grain, blemishes and faults in the wood under the finish. Pens that are really smooth, with no blemishes are made of plastic!

All of my pens are UK post free and are usually dispatched within two days by 1st Class Mail (24 Tracked). For orders outside the UK please see the overseas postage charges. These will be sent by Tracked Royal Mail International Standard. Also be aware that the buyer is responsible for any additional import and custom taxes.
